hello everybody
Voici mes propositions :
1- We stayed in a small hotel near Lake Geneva.
2- Sheila married a French man. (pas de préposition)
3- I'll be there in an hour and a half.
4- My boss earns a very good pay. (gagner de l'argent)
5- His work shows a great intelligence.
6- Can you take me to the Holiday Inn ?
7- I went on a two-weeks vacation to Marrakech. ( vu dans ma grammaire)
8- Can you wash this saucepan again? (se met en fin de proposition)
9- The car crashed into the back of a bus.( into pour indiquer une collision)
10- I'll pay for the drinks. (payer quelque chose qu'on achète: to pay for)
See you later

1. We stayed at (in) a small hotel near Lake Geneva.
2. Sheila married a French man.
3. I’ll be there about half an hour.
4. My boss gets very good pay.
5. His work shows a great intelligence.
6. Can you take me to the Holiday Inn?
7. I went on a two-weeks trip to Marrakech.
8. Can you wash this saucepan again?
9. The car crashed into the back of a bus.
10. I’ll buy the drinks.
Merci ma chère MystO'

Hello everybody !
1) We stayed in a small hotel near Lake Geneva.
. We don’t use “the” with the names of lakes.
"at" is the more common use when you "stay at a hotel", but you sometimes may read "in" in some English spoken countries ...
2) Sheila got married to a French man
Or Sheila married a French man.
3) I’ll be there in one and a half hours
Or I’ll be there in one and a half hour.
4) My boss is very well paid.
. A person is very well/badly paid.
5) His work shows great intelligence.
. In English, we say that a person has : very low/below average/average/
high/great/exceptional intelligence.
6) Can you take me to the Holiday Inn ?
Or Can you drop me off at the Holiday Inn ?
7) I went on a two week vacation to Marrakech.
. In English, when the quantity/weight/cost, etc. comes directly before the
noun it refers to, we normally make the quantity singular.
8) Can you wash this saucepan again ?
9) The car crashed into the back of a bus.
. But we can also say : “Brian crashed his car” when we are talking about a car accident, in the past.
10) I’ll buy the drinks.
. In a pub or a bar, we normally talk about buying or getting the drinks (rather than paying for them.)
To be continued.....
Many thanks for taking part !
