Hi Nobody,
Could you light my candle I don't understand quite well.
What do you mean:" It was called after a town..."
Before it had another name or
After that it took another name?
Maybe neither of them
Please give me a clue

No, sorry my dear MystO, it has no connection with a kind of biscuits.
OK! What woman wants...
Imagine something - an object, an animal or anything other - which is called after the name of a town or a city... For example, you could see a name of a city in the appellation "Washington Post", couldn't you?
You can look for either the thing or the town. As a matter of fact, you will be able to find the right thing or the correct town if you find the right town or the correct thing... At last, you will be able to explain to us why this appellation was chosen!
Did you understand now?
It's not easy, you know. Good luck.

What was your idea, dearest MystO'?
Did you think about any mint humbugs from Cambrai?
It would have been an example but it's not what you are searching after!
Try again

Hello,
Well, we’ll surely need hope because if it isn’t easy for you to explain , imagine for us to find ?
I try to synthesize: first the thing, then why and finally the town ?
Ex :Le journal la Meuse à cause du fleuve Meuse et la ville est Liège
Or the opposite
Ex : La ville de Chester qui a donné son nom à un fromage
Let’s first start by identifying a kind of thing or find the location in the world?
I’m waiting for some help from my friends, I don’t want to look stupid. I’m looking for complications and it is perhaps obvious!
See you

Do you need another example?
If I said "BORDEAUX", you would probably think about either the wine or the town. If you find "wine", you'll also think about the town... In Belgium, they have "LIEGE", either a city or a cork. JERSEY is also an example!

Never mind, let's keep on running this way, my dear Coxy !!!!!!

Hi Nobody and all my other friends,
I hope you're in a better mood today
To come back to our mysterious town
If we want to stay in the gastronomy that can take long.
For, example the cheeses: Gouda, Camembert, Edam, Saint Nectaire, Roquefort to go with a good Bordeaux bottled with corks from Liège after a good Manahan cocktail. No, I was joking!
Let’s try something different.
You said “For example, you could see a name of a city in the appellation "Washington Post", couldn't you?” Can the word be followed by anything? Gazet van Antwerpen don't be angry I am kidding
And a last question, I promise. Is the thing, so the town typical from English origin or not ?
I must leave for the moment. I hope there will be further evidence when I am back.
No pissed huh?
By the way Mysto’ what kind of cookies are « Newtons »? I’ve vever heard about them .
Bye and see you soon

Hi there !
Well, I was about asking the same questions as our friend Coxy except for .... the cookies :
A Fig Newton is a soft cookie filled with fig jam
Don't despair, my dear Coxy, our friend Nobody is very good, but..... united we stand !!!
See youuu,

For example "Gouda", "Camembert", "Edam", "Saint Nectaire", "Roquefort" , "Livarot", "Pont l'Evêque", etc. but unfortunately not!
Can the word be followed or preceded by anything?
It depends on the circle in which you are speaking.
If I said EBOLA, would you think about the Ebola river in Africa (Zaïre) or about the mortal disease caused by a virus? A scientist will immediately imagine the lethal hemorragic fever, even if I don't pronounce the word "virus".
And if I said LIMOGES, would you think about the prefecture of the Haute-Vienne (France) or about the porcelain? It depends on your knowledge of French geopgraphy or delicate decorative objects. Limoges is both the administrative capiltal of a French Region (the Limousin) and also the generic term for porcelain that is produced in Limoges.
Is the thing or the town typical from English origin or not?
No, it isn't.
You put the cart before the horse, my friends. Except for Coxy, how could you find the right answer if you ask me no question? In my opinion, you will never find the right answer because you ask me some clues, give me your answers but never ask me any question. In conclusion, I believe this enigma was too hard. I'm thinking of closing this complicated conundrom! Sorry, I had better submit an easier one to you... Sorry again.
Friendship.

Is this town a European capital
This town is in Europe but no, it isn't a capital.
Do you think about Stockholm syndrome? Why not? But unfortunately not!
This enigma was too hard, you know. I was wrong to submit it to you.
Friendship

Good evening,
Yes, the Stockholm syndrome ! I do think we could have guessed.... if we had asked you some clues !!!
It's very interesting, indeed. It's an extraordinary phenomenon in which a hostage begins to identify with and grow sympathetic to their captor.
It's named for an episod that occurred in Sweden August 1973 when an armed Swedish robber took some bank workers captive for six days and stole their hearts. (Other examples : Patty Hearst and Elizabeth Smart).
Many thanks, my dear Nobody !
